Improving access to safe water, sanitation and sustainable community infrastructure in rural Tamil Nadu.
Led and implemented on the ground by Kynarou Association in partnership with Samugam Trust. as its local administrative and field partner, This project supports vulnerable villages in the Salem and Dharmapuri districts of Tamil Nadu, where drinking water and sanitation remain significant challenges.
The project provides communities with access to safe drinking water and improves sanitation through the construction of eco-friendly community toilets based on the DEWAT system.
The approach is centered on village ownership and local capacity building. Water purification systems are equipped with appropriate technology for easy maintenance and long-term operation. Kynarou’s The field team provides ongoing technical and operational support to communities and Panchayats, helping them develop the skills and ownership needed to sustainably manage the facilities
